and there IS a config_d02.pl inside your directory still so thats not the issue, I havent moved or modified anything from the original "stupidity" directory

nevermind, I figured it out, the way your readme file is written it looks like the second step in the spawn command is supposed to be written like "./spawn.pl theirworkrepo/d02.config"...
