Is the *local playback* setting in Tauon enabled? (Menu > Settings > Accounts > Spotify)
Looking at the bigger picture this feature seems a bit gimmicky to me, even if technically possible I’m not sure it’s aesthetically desirable.
See if going to Menu > settings > Audio and changing device fixes it / if it works on any other device. You might need to restart Tauon after that.
