I discovered same kind of problems with the 2.7" HAT, too. After power on my pi 0 often reboots in epd.init(). And after calling epd.Dev_exit() it gets stuck in epd.init()....

Unfortunately, the problem is still there. Mini-conda (latest) is 4.12.0 and most of the commands fail with the error above.

I updated conda to 4.13 and it has the same problem.
