I would say to add them as long as they are tested/supported in the EverDrive N8. No-Intro probably won't add them.

If you have an easy way to do that, I say go for it :) Normally, the latest revision of a game goes in the official folder, and older revisions...

This appears to be resolved in 28.0 beta1. At least, settings opens in 4-5 seconds now. It's still slow but not broken.
