This is somehow more difficult than it should be! But it's definitely on the wish list!

I wanted to transfer some core Makie functionality to MakieCore for some time and took the chance to see how minimal I can make it while still supporting creating recipes....

Is this really just for PDF, or for CairoMakie? Looks to me like the latter, no?
