Having the same problem. Plus trying to change it from style - text styles doesn't work, and setting is lost if I reopen that dialog.

 Sorry I didn't mean to close it... This is MU4 exported PDF comparing to MU4 itself, the PDF definitely looks thicker and closer to MU3 though at a smaller...
oh, +1 for this, maybe along with the ratio tool to quickly make an opened ring shape. 
well, at least I can't find a way to make tablature numbers look like this; they do become small x and /, but not big slashes or crosses as shown...
