Yes, as far as I know it is not possible to get the selected text in Wayland. It just doesn't have the selection buffer as in X11.
Did not know. This is a recent addition, which is probably why it is not supported by Qt's built-in methods. But we could use API directly. For now I'm running...

I still think it is possible, [wl-clipboard](https://github.com/bugaevc/wl-clipboard) somehow works on any DE.
