@jsoref Honestly? There seems to be a lot of reluctance to touch the subject. Docs isn't really responsible for broad policy decisions like that, that's more on the engineering/platform health...
@jsoref I'm sure it had, maybe still has, a purpose, but I don't know what the reasoning was and certainly wouldn't mind if someone revisited the decision and came down...
