I would also like to see this, in other languages I haven't used these operations much, and knowing how they (could) behave on rust would be nice.

@gaby i recommend to keep it open, that way devs will see it and eventually get to it (hopefully)
On the note of PyPy support; I think interest would greatly increase once uvloop has become compatible with [hpy](https://hpyproject.org/), which should decrease the overhead of foreign interface interop greatly.
