Okay, I removed https and used only http. Now this error is gone and I get a Invalid Team Id in Settings. So I guess you can close this one...

Also I had to manually select each file and in the properties Grant access. (There is a button at the bottom).
I can confirm that this issue can be fixed making those windows settings. Just update the documentation
By adding a manifest.json I can install the plug-in. But it seems, that the settings are not getting saved any more. So the plug-in does nothing. :-( https://developer.thunderbird.net/add-ons/tb68/overlays
