This feels like #4845 all over again where most people agree it's a nice feature to have but no one can agree where to put it.

@just-a-hriday This is now included as part of #4845 and of course you've been added to the credits.
Why not just linkify what's visible and have a dedicated add-on to expand the messages or add it to full areas? It should automaticlly be compatible with more links assuming...
