Non-ASCII chars in address not supported for route in Google Maps

Open AltiusRupert opened this issue 13 years ago • 1 comments

I am in France : maps display nicely, even with addresses which are spelt with non-ascii characters. For example, I have an account at "rue de la République, 69002, LYON, France" : this will be mapped OK.

However, when I include driving instructions from this address to another, Google Maps displays with "rue de la R" in its standard search text bar, which seems to indicate some HTML/URLENCODE problem passing parameters from FindNearby to GMaps.

Hello. I've the same problem here in Portugal. This is such a shame and as far as i could see it only requires a URLencode of the query string before it get sent to google.
