I just generated the same exception using the example training set: https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/ont-research/taiyaki_walkthrough.tar.gz while following the taiyaki walk through instructions: https://github.com/nanoporetech/taiyaki/blob/master/docs/walkthrough.rst though it took 556 iterations before it failed. FWIW.
