I see what's happening here. Calling $laxParser->addPattern doesn't update the value of $pcreFormat, so when $laxParser->parse is called, it's still using the value of $pcreFormat that was set when $laxParser->setFormat...

Something like this might work, but it requires a change in thinking of how a new pattern is added. In this example, I want to add '.+' to the end...
