Unfortunately not:-( How the different browsers handles save/open is completely up to the browsers. Nothing can be done to overrule/changes this.

Which are working ? Those that aren't working, what happens with them? Nothing at all?

If this specific PR is never going to work, and therefor never goint to be accepted, then it should be rejected IMHO.
