touching top of screen causes game to go mostly black

Touching the very top of the screen causes everything but the menu items at the bottom of the screen to go black. The menu still works and retrying the stage will bring the gameplay area back but every time you touch the top of the screen it will disappear

Having some trouble reliably reproducing. Somehow it seems to happen more often later into the level on specifically Ivy Towers

The only constant in the glitch to happen is touching the top of the screen? That's a really weird one.
