I can confirm that this is an issue with docker running a ULA IPv6 address. As a workaround I just disabled IPv6 in my container with ` sysctls: - net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1`

My vote is for pinning version 8.4; this is now the default version that comes with docker tag mysql:8 but would prevent issues being introduced by future releases. Version 8.4...
