This would be nice not just for non QWERTY but just for comfort... For example, I prefer ctrl+d for deselect, del for delete, dackspace for clear cache.
There would be some benefits actually, especially for the end user. For the mod creator, most likely more people would download the mod and you'd get higher user counts due...
