I am not closing this for a reason. I only fixed the cause of the crash with playbin3 for 0.5.0. Still have plans to redo the whole API for 0.6.0....

@bbhtt How do you open subtitle file? Right now I would go with opening a video then once video plays open subtitle file. Also experimental options like `playbin3` and `pipewiresink`...

I am not competing with VLC. The only thing I do is make it how I want it and share it. Right now the only linux shells that this project...

Once new video sink lands and we port away from GJS, this might actually work.

Its not yet possible to run app as a whole outside of Linux, but the recently merged new sink can be compiled and tried on Windows and probably on macOS...

Idea seems cool. Need to get rid of the old video sink first. There is gonna be a problem with some subtitle formats through (e.g. ASS) where position and dimensions...

To be honest this is gonna be very complicated to combine with your request for "restoring previous subtitles on resume". Playbin(3) only accepts and stores single SUBURI at a time....

Right now I mark this as an "unlikely", but depending how rewritten API turns out, it might be implemented. Will see.

In addition to the player, seems like something that should have an assertion in the API, thus adding API label.
