@tdejager I think this is necessary, otherwise any packages that depend on pre-releases and are not on conda-forge can't be installed. Although it's a bad practice for a release version...

Might it have something to with the locals not set properly? Adding locales to my container fixed it for me.

Will this be merged and released soon? It's a pain to retry auth because it randomly fails because of this issue.

Not sure if related, but there was an issue with artifacts-keyring that was fixed 1-2 weeks ago. It was sometimes printing stuff other than the credentials to stdout. https://github.com/microsoft/artifacts-keyring/pulls

@chrmarti in my case, what I found what that although the runtime is nvidia-container-runtime, the docker compose config used has a `deploy` section that looks like this: ```yaml services: devcontainer-service:...
