inpaint supported with 3.5 engine?

InPaint worked well for me before, and if i roll back the engine it still does, but with 3.5 it seems if i do any paint, when the next image...

Alternatives?

As this project is mostly retired, are there any alternatives out there ( linux compatible, server/client, open source , not commercial or freemium )
