On wayland, it is caused by electron 38, the flags that were used to enable wayland support in electron no longer work. It should detect wayland by default via ```XDG_SESSION_TYPE```...
The archlinux electron package was updated recently. Element desktop now runs in native wayland and screen sharing works.
