I believe it's caused by the new Remote Key Provisioning they added recently, failing for me as well.

All I have to add is: keep trying please! We shouldn't be denied Pay just because we're running modified phones.

I think they only appear on monetized songs and usually only when you first start listening again after SoundCloud has been off for a while. On Wed, Jun 8, 2016,...

Those are not ads, they are restrictions to try forcing you to get Soundcloud Go for certain songs.
