Use [tinytuya](https://pypi.org/project/tinytuya/ ) to scan network. Will report as Version the protocol being used. If the device is Version 3.4 it it not supported.

Lights don't change color mode correctly when a scene is applied

Same for me, exactly this behavior. However the behavior now carries over to the Scene Editor. The displayed color mode in the scene editor is dependent on the current color...
