I've been a long time contributor so of course I have a fork.

You have to manually invite your bot to your server and make sure it has the permissions it needs to use the channel you specified in the config.

Well, there are no issues with the version of the Discord API being used by this plugin. I'm using it on multiple 1.10.2 and 1.12.1 SpongeForge servers with no issues.
