Just to also confirm I'm having this happen. I'm running Mojave and when started, OpenMTP fills the screen - covering my (auto-hidden) menu bar. Covering the menu bar makes re-sizing...

MacDroid seems to be using FUSE? I was asked for permission for FUSE when I tried it initially. Although the only file transfer I tried failed!
