In case of a shared lib: Automatically exposing all symbols on Windows (for example with WINDOWS_EXPORT_ALL_SYMBOLS) should be sufficient.

Consider to just create a warning if align is used in combination with an optional field and introduce a new keyword with the intended behavior, this avoids breaking binary compatibility....

How can this one be covered considering the `Storage-View` approach?
