Is your solution generic enough that we might upstream it? How will it effect others?

This still a thing? Seeing the issues the past few days, having the option to update outside of Renovate releases is perhaps desirable.

Been at this with Traefik for days, and I mean days... And finally come to the realisation that IPv6 was the culprit all along. And this issue shed some lights....

You know what, it does seem to be working now (latest release, not sure if that's relevant). The mouse work, yet very slow, and I can press the red button...

One option is to use https://github.com/renovatebot/renovate/. Renovate is quite advance and is able to lookup releases using various sources (npmjs, github releases, etc.)

I think the local needs to be added to the stdlib: https://github.com/direnv/direnv/blob/176bafc44922bd791ce95ed771a88cd52f8f9f70/stdlib.sh#L813-L856 Already started to look into this, just haven't had the time to implement it.
