was able to fix it but now I get this error instead insmod: ERROR: could not insert module apple-ib-tb.ko: Invalid module format

also when switching workspaces the colour of the selected workspace is green and not blue, unlike the rest of the theme which has a blue accent colour

most of this only applies to the dark theme

most of these issues seem to be related to the manjaro defaults
