Try using the Windows version with Wine. The overlay feature will not work, but everything else should work fine (sound alerts, logging, etc).

Yes, it's a known issue, unfortunately there's nothing I can do about it. The "fuel" data is missing in localhost:8111, so only Gajin's can fix it.
Yes, it's currently limited to numbers only. The text 'values' in my todo-list. I will see if I have time to implement this in v2.3.
