I get this same behavior with #! and #_ as well:  I've tested a few different punctuation/special char combos, as you can see from the string in the image....

After switching the Terminal Frontend to Canvas I thought to test this again, and found it no longer occurs. I switched back to WebGL and found the behavior no longer...
