OpenStreetMap?

I'm not asking to implement this, but I would love to know why not choose OpenStreetMap over Google Maps? There are tiles that look similar to google's (https://github.com/mapbox/osm-bright) and it's completely open. No idea what's the state of OSM in your country, but it would be neat to see an app this polished. Yet, I know that people want Google Maps because they already use google, so I'm only wish to know your opinion on the matter.

@kreha1 Hi there and thanks for your interest in WinGo Maps. The main reason of creating this app was the issues of Windows Maps in many countries specially in my country Iran and some others. Also we know the most popular map service worldwide is Google Maps and waze so select GMaps because it was more popular we will make it better and maybe we will add support for layers of other map providers like OSM and etc. but for now we are trying to bring full google maps native experience to Windows (Specially on mobile devices)

I see. Thanks for providing a quick and reasonable answer. I'll star the repo and observe the progress then ;). Good luck with the project.

If you wanna have a good OSM UWP maps app choose geometerpro

@lorisobi Is it free to use? Now I find some way to maybe bring Google maps new vector based maps to the app maybe. still not completely sure. I will check geometerpro pricings and terms of use, however it has it's own app on windows store for windows 10 and for 8.1 mobile devices!

@NGame1 I meant not you. I meant the questioning person
