no one provided the math to do so, so it’s hard to implement if you don’t have an idea of the math …
Without a recent bugtrace no one can investigate… maybe also run darktable from terminal with debug messages e.g. -d common

Closing this since gtk related - a newer gtk version doesn’t behave this way but shows ne issues ;)
Open a terminal (maybe search for it) and type `Applications/darktable.app/Contents/MacOS/darktable -d lua`
