Indeed it does, it might get merged. However if it does not they I am surprised they dont close this
This would make this type of development significantly faster.
To be honest. It is probably not going to be implemented however if it does, it will be a great change.
I may be wrong, however I believe this can work alongside Optifine. I have now tested so maybe test it first to see if it does
