Ubuntu Mini Pc instead of DJI Manifold

I am not a big fan of sticking with DJI products due to their cost but I am willing to try this as long as DJI Manifold can be replaced with a mini pc running Ubuntu. Also I have my own motorised rotators one is with 1 axis(pan) and another is a 2 axis one(pan/tilt)

So my questions are

1)can I use Ubuntu Mini Pc(stick?) instead of DJI Manifold? It is not even available in my country & seems unavailable in any country. And those I found online cost $2000 in Australian Dollars while a good mini pc with ubuntu is under $400. Unless it uses IMU on board of Manifold I do not really see any reason to pay extra $1600 for it.

2)Can the code be modified to turn full 360 rotation manually to eliminate a DJI motor completelly? If it is somehow related to recorded angles for each data captured, what else need to be modified getthis angles from my rotator.

I also do not need powering solution with a dji battery. I have already created a cable to power my Mid-40 from 3S lipo battery.
