It seems like deleting all traces of SpotifyXP on the computer and re-installing it helps. [I use Ubuntu 23.10]
Maybe Spotify changed credential verification, and had to be updated in the Credentials.json
If it is, maybe have it check to see if the current credentials work, and if not, make new ones. If it's not, I don't know. It is a weird...
I understand. Hopefully you find something that would work better for SpotifyXP, even if it means re-working the program to support it.

I wonder... What happens if somebody tries to pair with Spotify-compatible devices, such as Sonos Speakers, with a free plan. Would it produce the same result [Upgrade to Premium] or...
I can confirm that this issue is happening with my Free Spotify, also.
OS: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS Spotify apps tried: Mobile Spotify, Ubuntu Desktop, MacOS Ventura Desktop, Windows 11 Desktop. Current Subscription: Spotify Free
If the program broadcasts itself as a Chromecast and uses those protocols, but I am not sure if that would work.
