Any updates on this? This issue seems exist longer than a year now.
+1. I am keen on new [events](https://github.com/beyondcode/laravel-websockets/blob/master/docs/advanced-usage/dispatched-events.md), which could be very handy.
The variable name `$logDriver` is a bit misleading. The code reads from the configuration `'logging.default'`, which is actually the channel name. I think the easiest solution just set the `LOG_CHANNEL`...
