I would suggest using [jeepney](https://pypi.org/project/jeepney/), because it is written in pure Python and will cause fewer problems. A example implementation can be found [here](https://github.com/ponty/pyscreenshot/blob/4740bb59dce99ad57c66860ddb92951fa0ad4e85/pyscreenshot/plugins/freedesktop_dbus.py).
