Nice idea, but this placeholder generation should only be enabled with a system setting.
Thanks for helping to make MODX better. This fix should check, wether the TV option forceSelection is deactivated and not add the unsupported values then. Otherwise the patch looks ok....

@smg6511 I hope a modal background is just added once in the DOM and there are no other disabling strategies executed in ExtJS when `modal: true` is set.
A 'remove mask' is also an option for the 'modal' background. Nice idea!
I would group the empty cache switch with the close/save buttons on the right (maybe it can be positioned above those buttons). But that't not important.
@adewes this seems not to be merged into the current release. It would be great to see this happen.
Feel free to create it.
The ImagePlus snippet does not support any @ bindings in the tpl property.
