I've seem to fixed this issue. I am not able to send photos via the F-Droid version. I installed the Play Store version, sent myself a picture, then reverted back...

Firefox on Linux is completely broken, even when using useragent switcher. The call attempts to be made but gets stuck in "Exchanging keys" message.
