A similar issue was fixed in a dev version of Minetest 5.5.0. This issue may have come back after many commits.
I'm not good at doing builds but try building Minetest with GLESV2.
I thought it was strange that Minetest would open the bin folder.
This could be a macOS bug/macOS setting. Similar to the FN key on windows. Not too sure about macOS though.
It would be great to have an updated version of Minetest on the Microsoft Store.
Suggestion: Add a "Continue" button so players are able to load the game with unsatisfied dependencies.

What version of 3d_armor are you using.
Can confirm this bug. Noticeable when the player also has build_inside_player = true in minetest.conf
