Yess indeed its the recycle bin. why does it generate so much cache though?

might it be possible to read/write the metadata to existing sidecar files? it would be nicer to have the metadata directly in the file, but this might be temporary solution.

I personally prefer the samsung approach bc you can zoom into the picture which is useful, but a combined approach would be be pretty killer too.

I tried both global backend options as well as fiddeling with the delays, but I still get the mentioned issue. I am using 2.2.1

have you ever used digiKam? it recently added OCR support. the text is then stored in the metadata of the image

then windows probably doesn't apply the XMP tags when batch processing videos
