So in the end I was able to upgrade from from 6.0.9 to 6.4.8 Used helm chart version 4.0.2, image alpine-6.4-latest Problem was with undocumented parameter ZBX_AUTOHANODENAME which is hardcoded...

Yep, exactly - Zabbix server does not accept to upgrade the database if run in HA mode. As for solution, sounds great if could be implemented in that way
