Ok, thanks for bringing it to my attention. I've changed the issue title to make it specific to themes viewed in an iframe and will figure out a solution soon.
Yes, will think about lazy loading in the future for v2. You can probably put something together using the API and `preloadTheseFrames` [option](http://www.sequencejs.com/developers/documentation/#preloader-options).

This also occurs when the browser tab is inactive. Using `requestAnimationFrame` instead of `setTimeout` will cause everything to stop when the tab is inactive to at least tidy that up...
