This went downhill fast, guess I'd better just open a separate issue for my case since it seems it may not be related to this one anyway.

I'm using "1.10.3_sgb07".
I can confirm that it doesn't work on the latest version, trying games such as "Ganbare Daiku no Gen-san". Will try the beta when I get home. EDIT: Just checked...
