iirc, the reddit extractor is already doing something similar, i.e. using yt-dlp for dash streams
There is the option to store and collect [unsupported links](https://github.com/mikf/gallery-dl/blob/master/docs/configuration.rst#outputunsupportedfile), which should basically work. But it might be possible that the Patreon extractor has to be amended first.
