It works just fine on my laptop, but not on my desktop. My laptop uses 20.8 and my desktop does as well.

It just doesn't work on my desktop computer for whatever reason. It has no reason to NOT work. I don't know if Windows Defender detects it as a virus, but...

So, after the 10 seconds are up, I see the icon in my system tray, only for it to disappear a second later.
