Assess current front-end website performance

From skimming the website during my first hour, last week.

  • [x] rodi_.png to SVG (via #165)
  • [x] icons to SVG (partly done via #178)
  • [ ] check fonts (are Google Fonts in use?, load the font)
  • [x] reduce the size of the background image (.5MB)
  • [ ] Country Dataset is slow to render (ex: https://dev.riskopendata.org/dataset_details.html?keyds=415)
  • [ ] activate GZIP compression in nginx (also)
