What kind of cable are you using? And did that change? I don't think you would even need the patch.. can you give a bit more info on the configuration?...
What does switchresx say when making a custom resolution?
You have SIP disabled? And just save and reboot :) would work best
Hm.. interesting.. try the patch.. but it's really strange.. I've had it working without patch on MacPro 3.1 with a 1080 and 670 just fine..
And does it also work? :)
