It's proprietary code, and would not be allowed in f-droid. I would rather suggest using the microg api, which is open source.

Well, the current HLS implementation uses Google's servers, this would aim to use LBRY's whenever available.

The problem appears that NewPipeExtractor doesn't extract the audio streams, it only extracts two 50kbps audio streams.
